Finding the Right Wood Flooring0

Hardwood flooring is a great choice for many different types of homes and situations. With all its colours, finishes, and species, it can be difficult for you to choose the best hardwood flooring for you. However, experts from well-known Swedish manufacturer Kahrs, say that wood flooring is all just a matter of taste and preference. Listed below are some tips on how to choose the best hardwood flooring for your house based on certain criteria.

1. Colour

If you opt for stained hardwood floor, you should choose a stain that matches your house’s decors. Remember that stained wood may live longer than a certain trend in your home. So, choose something that can give the room a certain unique feel.  If you have a hard time choosing the overall look, our in house designer is available on a complimentary basis to help with your colour selection.

At Canadian Home Flooring the selection of different types of stained hardwood flooring is vase and we are certain we will be able to find something that fits with all your requirements at a budget that is determined by you.

2. Wood species

This area is actually the easiest to decide on.  Usually most of our clients can tell us what type of look they are after and from that we can quickly guide them to the right species of wood.  For example if you are looking for a timeless, somewhat classic look you may want to go with an oak or a maple hardwood. Exotic woods can give the room a unique and at times a luxurious and warm feeling because of their very rich and elegant natural colors.

3. Type of gloss

Our clients don’t usually opt for high-gloss wood floors as they tend to highlight marks and scratches a little more.  They may not be the best selection especially if you have children or pets at home. Most of today’s hardwoods are finished in a low luster matte stain.  They show less of the dust and scratches and they also tend to blend with the rest of colour schemes of your home a lot smoother.
