Lately we have had a tremendous amount of requests and questions about countertop choices, especially Quartz countertops.
It seems the choices and manufacturers of Quartz are increasing by 1 each week and although everyone likes to have choice, it does get quite overwhelming when all the Quartz choices seemingly look the same and have similar characteristics.
So how do you choose the countertop that is right for you?
Well the first decision is to know whether you will want to go with Quartz in the first place. Although the popularity of Quartz countertops is on a huge increase, Granite countertops still do dominate the countertop market here in Vancouver. Of course we are not including Laminate countertops here.
So if you are definitely going with Quartz, then the next question for you may be, which brand to go with.
The most common and well known brand is arguably “Silestone”. They were among the first to hit the market a few short years ago. But there are now well more than a dozen more in the market.
For example, at our beautiful showroom, on West Broadway, Vancouver, we have on display more than enough choices for you to make an informed decisioin. Cambria, Caesarstone, Q-Quartz, LG, Fasa, Vicostone, Diresco, Crush, and and are some of the brands that you can select from.
All the brands that are mentioned here have very similar characteristics and most are priced very close to each other. Silestone and Cambria probably stand a little higher than the rest, mainly due to their range of colours. Otherwise the difference in performance of each brand is negligible.
If you’re going to go with a Quartz or Granite Countertop, make sure you deal with a reputable fabricator. There are a lot of differences from one to the other and the final look of the countertop and the installation methods and workmanship are what you will have to live for years to come.
So I suggest do not try to save a few bucks here. Make sure the fabricator is well equipped and well experienced before you give him your hard earned money.
