One of the most common questions that I get here at the showroom is from folks redoing their bathrooms. What to use, ceramic tiles, glass tiles, natural stone?
Well there really is not a simple answer to the question. Before being able to answer these types of questions I always want to know more about the desired look, the age of the house, the colour schemes, even how much “re-doing” they are actually doing.
Of course all of the above is after I find out what the wife and husband have in common when it comes to the overall look!
At the end of the day what I recommend more than any other type of finish is a porcelain tile. There are still many ceramic tile choices that you can use for the walls of your bathroom or shower but with today’s amazing looking porcelain tiles at such low price options, why choose ceramic.
Natural stone is a beautiful way to go as well but most folks get turned off as soon as I mention that natural stone is really nice but it does require some maintenance from time to time. I do have to say that the maintenance should not be enough to deter you from going with that finish, since the work involved is really not all that difficult or time consuming and it certainly doesn’t need any type of expertise.
So what is the final verdict? Well you can’t really go wrong with either of the choices to finish your bathroom. Check out some photos in magazines or online and when you see something that you like, go with it.
