Over the last little while so many of the hardwood companies, whether distributors like Torlys or Shnier or manufacturers like Lauzon or Preverco, have come out with very similar looking product lines in hardwood flooring. This new trend, especially in the West Coast, seems to be rampant with every brand.
What exactly is the trend in hardwood flooring that I’m talking about? Well it is a huge selection of brushed products, predominantly with White Oak as the species of choice.
The colours are very different that the subtle stains that hardwood flooring used to have just a few years ago. Most colours are very pale like grays and darker grays! Yes there are quite a few beige tones too.
Most of what we have sold here at our beautiful showroom at 1903 West Broadway, over the last little while have been these types of hardwood. The old exotic Brazilian Cherry or Walnut or even good old Maple hardwood flooring have taken a back seat for now.
So now I want to ask you, if you have purchases a floor over the last year or so, what kind of wood or colour did you get and if you are thinking of getting a floor what have you looked at or what sort of colours or species do you find catches your eyes?
